End of Spring Term 2024

Last classes this term are on Thursday March 28th.
We wish all students and parents/guardians a very happy Easter break and look forward to welcoming you all back for the Summer Term starting on Monday April 15th.

EXTRA CLASS

Dear Parents,

As you know we had to cancel classes on Saturday January 20^th due to the fire at Blatchington Mill School.

To compensate we are holding classes on Saturday February 17^th also at the dance studio at Blatchington Mill School.

As usual, we hold classes on the first weekend of half-term which is Saturday February 10^th.

For all students and especially for those students taking exams on March 24^th this is a good opportunity to keep up your practise.

End of Autumn Term

Christmas Break & End of Term
Our term ends on Saturday December 9th.
The last Saturday this term for Saturday ‘Taster’ Classes is December 2nd.
If you would like to book a free taster class for next term please use our ‘contact’ form stating ‘beginner’ or any ‘Grade’ Work experience, Adult or Child (age of child).

Next term commences on Saturday January 6th.

SUMMER BREAK

Our Autumn Term starts on Monday Spetember 4th 2023…enjoy the summer holidays and be ready to return in the Autumn re-invigorated!

Baby Ballet for 3 – 5 year olds at Blatchington Mill School Dance Studio.

Miss Rosemary Carden

It is with great sadness I have to tell you of the passing of Miss. Rosemary Carden.

Many of the students, past and present, of The Portslade School of Dancing will have been examined by her and experienced her fair and pleasant manner. She also supported our school being guest of honour for many of our shows and demonstrations.

Miss. Rosemary was the Principal of The Doris Isaacs School of Dancing for many years and was my teacher from when I joined that school at the age of eight.

She was a BBO examiner for 50 years, a choreographer for The Crescent Dramatic Society and a leading influence in the dance world locally and for The British Ballet Organization.

I shall miss my very dear friend and colleague ‘Miss.Rosemary’. Sheila Cross

About us

Established  in 1966, we offer classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Modern Dance at various venues in Portslade, West Sussex. We also offer ‘limbering and strengthening’ classes. We welcome pupils from age 3 (our baby class) upwards…no age limit! We have beginner’s classes for those with no previous dance experience.
